The off-grid self-powered pole stores the power generated by the solar module wrapped around the pole in the battery inside the pole, and the power can be used for LED lighting, cameras, network connection, and various sensors. It does not require the connection to grid system or electric work. It creates power in places where there is no power. It is environmentally friendly because it runs on 100% renewable energy.


Characteristics

The pole shape allows for space-saving installation and boasts high wind resistance (60m/s). Since the solar module wrapped around the pole will continue to generate power stably without being affected by piling-up snow or fallen leaves.



High generation stability
The vertically generation surface makes high generation stability and long maintenance-free period not to pile up snow or fall leaves.


High efficiency and safety
High efficiency solar sheet (model CG0901) and high safety battery (model IP1001) are used.


Not required grid system
The independent power source without grid system or electrical work.


Bright LED light
Make the place safe with LED light, where are difficult to reach the grid system.


Strong wind resistant
The pole without cable is able to resist the strong wind such as typhoon, hurricane, and cyclone.

The difference between on-grid and off-grid power poles

Off-grid power poles create power where there is no power, without the need for power construction. Therefore, it is expected to be used in various ways by installing it in places where it is difficult to connect overhead lines or where it is difficult to secure power. It will be possible to create an eco-friendly smart city using renewable energy, such as watching over the city, disaster prevention, and crime prevention.

Monitoring camera

24h video stored on SD card without grid system. The conditions and status of the pole can be monitored remotely by LTE connection.

Schoolyard monitoring

To install a thermometer and a hygrometer or sensors, the danger of heat stroke or air pollution such as PM 2.5 will alert children playing in the schoolyard to evacuate to the building throught warning ligghts and loudspeakers.


Weather camera

The weather conditions of the sightseeing spots, as well as weather information captured by the camera, can be periodically updated and displayed on signage and displays.

Sensing of combined weather information such as solar radiation, wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and rainfall.

Initiatives with local governments


Signed an agreement with Shiso Shi, Hyogo Prefecture in September 2021

OSM and Shiso City, Hyogo Prefecture, concluded an agreement on community development for the purpose of promoting local safety and the security of residents.
A project Off-grid self-powered poles was launched.

Commencement of experiments in March 2022

Started experiments of Off-grid self-powered pole in Shiso Shi in March, 2022.

November 2022 1st phase demonstration experiment completed

Conducted verification tests of power generation, power storage systems, network communication, various sensors, etc., and completed the development of a "safe and secure monitoring system" in 1st phase.
"Illegal dumping monitoring", "weather camera", "sediment disaster tilt detection" and "parking lot monitoring" are in operation in Shiso city.

Monitoring illeagal dumping
Yamasaki Cho, Shiso Shi
Installed an off-grid power pole in the mountains where illegal dumping continues.
Equipped with LED lighting, a remote communication unit with a camera, and LTE connection, it monitors illegal dumping.
As a result, illegal dumping is eliminated where off-grid self-powered poles are installed.

Weather camera
Saijosan park, Shiso Shi
Saijosan Park, located in Yamazaki-cho, Shiso City, is known for being one of the best spots for autumn leaves in the Kansai region, and is crowded with many tourists in autumn. An off-grid self-powered pole was installed under the observatory with a good view.
Power is supplied to the camera installed on the top floor of the observatory, and images from the camera are transferred via communication. It plays the role of a weather information camera in tourist spots.

Landslide detection
Haga Cho, Shiso Shi
Install off-grid self-powered poles where landslides have occurred in the past.
A tilt sensor is installed on the slope to remotely collect information on the tilt of the ground.

Parking lot monitoring
Yamasaki Cho, Shiso Shi
An off-grid self-powered pole equipped with a unit with an SD card camera was installed in the newly established tourist parking lot.
24-hour video recording is possible to record crime prevention effects and site conditions.
